Hikingbench

Pay a visit to the Hikingbench stand (H20) at the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show on 4/5th March and check out the new RS Aero Hikingbench.

On display for the first time, the new model has a seat profile developed from original RS drawings so that it matches the Aero deck shape.

“The prototype of the new bench was used by RS Sailing MD, Alex Newton Southon during the 2016 Aero Nationals. Once I knew Alex was happy and that it was a good boat match, production seats were ordered and the first few units were sold online before Christmas” commented David Page from David Page Associates Ltd.

The new RS Aero Hikingbench is available to purchase, allowing sailors to exercise and strengthen core muscles on a bench that matches their boat, ideal for helping to improve your sailing performance.

“You may ask, why it is important to get the right Hikingbench for the boat you sail? If you practise good posture on land, it becomes a habit on the water. In addition it allows you to strengthen your core in the same areas that you use when sailing your boat. Something you can’t easily do on a regular piece of gym equipment”, added David.

There will be experts on the stand each day to demonstrate and help you to understand good sailing posture. Drop by the stand to find out more and have a go.
